UTAD is a public institution in the Portuguese higher education sector whose mission is to promote high quality teaching, research, and community outreach, striving to be a centre of excellence for lifelong learning. Its Department of Human and Social Sciences has specific expertise on investigating inequalities in education, also through the design and analysis of longitudinal studies and data. Its team, in collaboration with Lusíada University and the national authority IAVE, both involved in the project as third parties providing in-kind contribution against payments, specialises on investigating the factors influencing students’ school engagement and academic outcomes.
